If you would like to start to volunteer and give it a try:

  1. Contact Iskashitaa at or at 520-440-0100 to schedule a time to come and volunteer.  Often first time volunteers come to harvests (Wednesday and Friday mornings) or to food preservation classes. If you are interested in harvesting, please RSVP by contacting our Harvest Coordinator at:

  2. Fill out the volunteer waiver

If you would like to volunteer on a recurring basis:

  1. Complete and submit a volunteer application online. The Volunteer Coordinator will respond to your application via email, letting you know when you are able to begin.

  2. Ask two professional and one personal reference to complete the volunteer reference form.  Forms can either be submitted electronically or printed (click to download) and mailed to our office.

  3. Fill out the volunteer waiver (if you have not already done so).

  4. Attend a monthly volunteer orientation (Refugee 101). You can find more information and an RSVP link on our events page.  Note: You can begin volunteering prior to attending, but we ask that all of our committed volunteers participate in a training as soon as possible.

  5. After we receive your application and reference forms, the Volunteer Coordinator will match you with a specific program based upon your schedule, our needs, and your skills/passions.

  6. For volunteer drivers, Iskashitaa requires a copy of the driver's driving record, proof of insurance, and a copy of the driver's license.  If you have a vehicle and would be willing to transport volunteers or refugees, please scan these documents and email them to or bring them to our office when you come to volunteer.  A copy of your Arizona driving record can be found here:
