Food Preservation Class

Tucson is in the heart of citrus season right now, and we love the fruit that comes through our organization; but have you ever wondered what to do with all the grapefruit, lemons, and oranges when you can’t eat any more?

Join Iskashitaa for a Food Preservation Class, where you can learn how to make several delicious products with our local fruit, both adding some variety to your fruit intake and making the fruit last longer. We will have refugee and non-refugee volunteers working cooperatively together to share knowledge and experiences, and to develop skills that extend beyond the kitchen.

The class will be held at St. Francis in the Foothills UMC, who have graciously allowed us to use their commercial kitchen. We will begin prep work at 12:00, and finish cleaning up by 5:00.
